Football Club "Zenith" Vetren dol

The sport activity of the village is represented by the Football Club “Zenith”. It competes in the A-regional (fourth) division. They are now tenth place from 16 teams. They play in white kits and away blue kits. The club has a picturesque stadium, a playground, dressing room and tribunes from the west side. The club was founded after 1945 and it wore the name “Sportist”. In 1948 the club was renamed after its goalkeeper Dimitar Markov, who died in an accident being in a hurry for the football match. In 1957 the forward Dimitar Blagov renamed the club after the Russian club Zenith-Sankt Petersburg - www.fc-zenit.ru it is a great team. The team wears the name nowadays as well. There only two teams worldwide with the name Zenith. Until now Zenith – Vetren dol played in fourth and fifth division only. From this year on there is a youth team.
